Description:

Nonprofits eligible for the Working Poor Tax Credit and organizations and individuals involved with K-12 Tax Credits are invited to attend a free workshop held at The Mini Time Machine Museum. The workshop is presented by CRISIS Productions and Adam Colwell’s WriteWorks. Topics include: • Do’s and Don’ts of Marketing Tax Credit Donations – a CPA’s perspective • Copy That Sells (and Compels) • Smarter Mailing – Navigating the USPS Maze to Save Money • Connecting with a Cause – Tips from a Successful Campaign The goal of the workshop is to foster collaboration between agencies, work together to educate Tucson regarding available state tax credits and ultimately keep more tax revenue in our local schools and nonprofits. “According to recent research by Convio, up to 40 percent of individual donations occur in the last four to six weeks of the year,” says Dawn Vandaveer, a direct mail marketing specialist with CRISIS Productions. “With the current tax season coming to a close this week, now is a good time to start planning the 2012 donation cycle. Traditional mail still accounts for the majority of donations, 49 percent sent and 43 percent received. Those who come to the workshop will learn simple ways to maximize their postal budgets.”

Occurs once: May 16, 2012 (3:00 PM to 5:00 PM)
