Big to Little, Dino to Nano Celebration

  • Print
Description:

Children of all ages can celebrate the past and usher in the future during the “Dino to Nano Celebration” at the Children’s Museum Tucson on Saturday, March 31st from 10:00am to 1:00pm. The event will offer dino-themed activities such as mask-making, fossils prints, dino feet relay races and meteorite demos with the Planetary Science Institute as a farewell salute to the Dinosaur World exhibit. Activities will also feature exploring nano science with Nano gold, giant puzzles and a “butterfly” demonstration as a fun introduction to the future exhibit, Investigation Station. This event is included with general admission. Nano activities are courtesy of the Nanoscale Informal Science Education Network, a national community of researchers and informal science educators dedicated to fostering public awareness, engagement, and understanding of nanoscale science, engineering, and technology. The Planetary Science Institute is a private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation dedicated to solar system exploration. It is headquartered in Tucson, Arizona, where it was founded in 1972. The future Investigation Station exhibit, opening May 2012, will offer engaging interactives in the areas of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). This exhibit was made possible through the support of Angel Charity for Children. The Children’s Museum Tucson serves more than 125,000 children and families annually who come to experience the fun, hands-on environment of a children’s museum. The exhibits, programs and special events invite the young and the young-at-heart to discover and explore the arts, sciences and humanities together in an environment that enhances these learning experiences.
