Some folks may not be too familiar with western swing, but more than one knowledgeable observer has described it as "Big band jazz, with fiddle and steel instead of trumpets and saxes". If you'd like to hear a true western swing artist, come to the Arizona Folklore Preserve Saturday, February 25, or Sunday, February 26, for a performance by Carolyn Martin, 2010 Western Swing Female Vocalist of the Year, Academy of Western Artists.
