Tucson Arizona (December 2) - SunWest Federal Credit Union is stepping up efforts to fight auto theft. The public is invited to receive free Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) etching at its Broadway & Pantano branch on Friday December 2.

VIN etching allows a vehicle identification number to be chemically engraved into every piece of glass on a vehicle. Etching prevents crime because thieves would have to replace each piece of glass on a stolen vehicle before it could be sold or transferred.

Some insurance carriers also provide discounts on coverage for vehicles with the added protection of VIN etching.

The process is: • Permanent • Virtually invisible • Takes approximately ten minutes • Free from SunWest Federal Credit Union ($300.00 value)
