Baby boy on board
The ultrasound to find out whether I'm carrying a girl or a boy was one of the most exciting days of my life. I could hardly concentrate the morning of the appointment.
Anytime I have an ultrasound I get excited, but this was a bigger appointment than most. I knew once I found out the baby's gender the pregnancy would seem a bit more real.
The ultrasound technician was great. She asked ahead of time if I wanted to know the sex and was upfront that there was a chance she wouldn't be able to detect the gender herself. You never know if the baby will cooperate.
The technician was very thorough while checking the health of the baby. At one point, she stopped and started typing. Up on the screen popped, "BOY."
What a rush of excitement!
No more silly nicknames for the baby or having people refer to him as "it." Knowing that I'm having a little boy is helping the realization of being on mom sink in, slightly.
