Justin Schecker joined KGUN9 On Your Side in September 2012. Before reporting for the 5, 6, and 10 news, Justin was a Videojournalist for Good Morning Tucson. In addition to covering overnight breaking news, Justin has contributed to KGUN9's coverage of major stories such as the Yarnell Hill Fire, the search for Isabel Celis and the Richter child imprisonment case.

Justin wrote a sports column for his college newspaper, The Daily Northwestern.
Justin grew up outside our nation's capital in Silver Spring, Maryland. He spent a summer as a local news intern in the NBC Washington newsroom. Justin got his on-air start reporting for Lansing's CBS affiliate, WLNS-TV6. Justin covered a variety of stories in Michigan, including rallies at the state capitol and U2's 360 world tour.
Before moving to Tucson, Justin endured four Chicago winters while studying journalism and international studies at Northwestern University. A proud graduate of the Medill School of Journalism, Justin worked for the award-winning Northwestern News Network, including as News Director during his senior year. He also freelanced for Big Ten Network as an announcer and producer of live online sports broadcasts.
Outside of the KGUN9 newsroom, Justin enjoys taking trips up Mt. Lemmon, trying Tucson's restaurants and watching the Arizona Wildcats protect home court at McKale Center. An avid sports fan, Justin's other favorite teams are the Boston Red Sox, Washington Capitals and Northwestern Wildcat football.
