Marcelino Benito comes to KGUN 9 On Your Side from literally a few blocks down the street. He served as a Weekend Anchor/Reporter at FOX 11 for a year and a half before making the jump to KGUN in February 2012. During his time there he covered major events like the January 8th shooting and focused in on city politics.
Marcelino is originally from Houston, but endured four years of cold Chicago winters to graduate from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. He's thrilled to be in hot, snow-less Tucson. Before making his way to the Old Pueblo, Marcelino reported at WLNS in Lansing, Michigan. There he covered everything from the state budget crisis to discrimination cases on city school buses.

Marcelino also spent time overseas in Madrid, reporting for El Mundo, a major Spanish newspaper.
When Marcelino isn't working, he enjoys working out, trying new restaurants, checking out new movies, and playing tennis.
