Aaron comes to KGUN 9 On Your Side from WREX-TV in Rockford, Illinois where he served as weekday morning and noon meteorologist.
Rockford is also Aaron's hometown, where he was born and raised and (according to his mom) learned to read by watching the local weather forecast on television.

While attending Valparaiso, Aaron was elected president of the Valparaiso University Storm Intercept Team, and no wonder – Aaron has logged 25,000 miles chasing storms!
While reporting weather for WREX-TV, Aaron picked up a 2010 Illinois Broadcaster “Silver Dome” award in the category of best live coverage in a medium market, for live coverage of an EF2 tornado that partially destroyed the town of Caledonia, IL, Nov 22nd, 2010.
Aaron has a Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology from Valparaiso University where he also ran Division 1 track. He earned national recognition on MSNBC for his coverage of the January tornado that devastated northern Boone County, Illinois in 2008.
Aaron has gone skydiving twice and looks to get his license in the future. In his free time, he enjoys running, tennis and is an avid motorcycle rider with a yellow Honda CBR600RR that he's quite proud of.
