KGUN 9 welcomes Pat Parris to Good Morning Tucson as one of its new full-time anchors.
Parris comes to KGUN 9 from Fox Sports Midwest in St. Louis, Missouri. He has also worked in markets such as Pittsburgh, Norfolk, Virginia and Des Moines, Iowa. Pat has more than 28 years of broadcasting experience and is a 4-time Emmy Award winner for broadcasting excellence throughout his career.
“We are delighted to welcome Pat back to Tucson,” said Jim Arnold, vice president and general manager for KGUN 9. “Pat brings a wealth of broadcasting experience to Good Morning Tucson. His energy and knowledge of our community will contribute something special to our GMT team.”
Pat is no stranger to Tucson and KGUN 9. He is a graduate of Sabino High School where he was 1982 high school state track champion in the 800 meters. While in high school and college, he worked at KGUN 9 during the summer. His father, Jack Parris, is a former general manager of the station.
“I am excited to be back in Tucson and at the very station where I got my start in television,” said Parris
He has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Drake University. He is married and has two grown children. He enjoys hiking, running and playing golf.
