MESA, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a Gilbert man accused in a fatal shooting at party in Sierra Vista is being held on $250,000 bond in the Cochise County Jail.
Police say 20-year-old Robert Tillman was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder in connection with Tuesday's shooting death of 31-year-old Lukata Way. The arrest took place at Tillman's parents' home in Gilbert.
Police say Tillman was attending a party of about 60 people in Sierra Vista on Dec. 20 when an altercation escalated, and 1 of the people involved in the altercation left the house and returned with Way.
Way confronted another person and police say Tillman, who was not involved in the fight, pulled out a handgun and fired several shots at Way. The victim later died at a hospital.
