Suspicious Package at the Benson Post Office

Posted: Updated:

Earlier today, the Benson Post Office located at 250 South Ocotillo Avenue was evacuated because of a suspicious package.

A post office employee came across a package that was ticking.

The post office was evacuated.

There were 12 employees and 10 customers inside the building at the time.

The post office building was shut down for about four hours while they investigated.

Postal inspectors ran the package through an x-ray machine and had to disable the suspicious package.

It was discovered the package was a wall clock.

The post office wants the Benson area to know all mail still will get delivered today, just a little bit late.

The post office also wants to remind everyone that when sending electronics, make sure to remove the batteries.
