TUCSON, Ariz., November 19, 2009 — As part of its continuing network investment to support growing demand for advanced mobile devices and applications, AT&T* today announced the activation of five new 3G cell sites and the upgrade status of another two sites to 3G in Tucson that will enhance coverage for area residents and businesses.
The new cell sites and upgrades are one part of AT&T’s ongoing efforts to drive innovation and extend its 3G wireless network—the nation’s fastest according to independent testing. It is also part of AT&T’s ongoing investment to build the broadband networks that will fuel economic growth and create jobs, and enable its customers to quickly access the content, applications and services that matter most to them. Over the past three years, from 2006 to 2008, AT&T’s total investment in its wireless and wireline network in Arizona has exceeded $375 million.

The five new 3G cell sites are enhancing coverage for residents and businesses in Tucson. The improved coverage is focused at and around the following areas:
- Along I-10 between West Linda Vista Boulevard and Avra Valley Road and covering the communities between Santa Cruz River to the west, N. Camino del Oeste to the east, the intersection of N. Blue Bonnet Road and W. Camino de Mañana to the north and W. Cortaro Farms Road to the south.
- The communities to the west of the Saguara National Park East extending to S. Houghton Road to the west, Golf Links Road to the north and E. Irvington Road to the south.
- Between S. Country Club Road to the west, S. Van Buren Avenue to the east, E. Michigan Street to the north and E. Los Reales Road to the south.
- Along S. Mission Road between W. 29th Street to the north and W. Ajo Way to the south and extending to S. San Joaquin Avenue to the west and S. Santa Cruz Lane to the east.
- Between N. Chieftan Trail to the west, N. Bear Canyon Road to the east, E. Rudasil Road to the north and E. Snyder Road to the south.
Additionally, two existing sites in Tucson have been upgraded to 3G. Residents will benefit from improved coverage in the following areas:
- Between N. Musette Drive to the west, N. 1st Avenue to the east, W. Moore Road to the north and W. Naranja Drive to the south.
- Near the Tucson International Airport between S. Nogales Highway to the west, S. Country Club Road to the east, E. Canada Street to the north and E. Elvira Road to the south.
