GILBERT, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say the father of a woman wanted in a series of fraudulent credit card purchases turned her in to Gilbert police.

The family of 40-year-old Delores Jean Rakow tried to persuade her to surrender when they saw surveillance photos of her on TV news shows Thursday, but she refused.

Gilbert police had issued a news release asking for the public's help in identifying a woman in surveillance photos. Police say the suspect made almost 50 purchases in June using a forged credit card in the Gilbert area, Prescott Valley and Mayer and was using the name of a Norwell, Mass., resident.

The Massachusetts woman discovered the fraud when a collection agency called her on Sept. 29. She ran a credit check and found that her address had been changed to one in Gilbert.

Police say Rakow was arrested Friday at a Gilbert storage unit business.
