DPS receives equipment through Governors Office of Highway Safety

The Arizona Department of Public Safety wishes to thank the Governor's Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) for facilitating a number of federal grants designed to enhance traffic safety programs.

The following are Capitol Outlay Federal 402 funds:

  • The purchase of two portable breath testing devices (PBT) and mouthpieces to enhance DUI enforcement $954.18
  • The purchase of one Global positioning Satellite Accident Measuring System $50,000
  • The purchase of two accident-measuring systems and software $31,680
  • The purchase of 105 portable breath testing devices (PBT) and mouthpieces to enhance DUI enforcement $43,708
  • The purchase of 20 speed-detection devices (Lidar) and related equipment to enhance speed enhancement $83, 190
  • The purchase of 10 speed-detection devices (Radar/Lidar) and 91 tint meters to enhance speed and traffic enforcement $30,642
  • Personnel Services (overtime) and Employee Related Expenses for overtime related to providing in-state DUI training courses and travel out of state for personnel to attend DUI seminars and enhance DUI enforcement $19,480
  • Professional Services (overtime) and employee related expenses to provide in state accident investigation courses, professional and outside services for in state update training courses.  Additional funding will support travel in state to provide instruction at accident reconstruction courses and travel out of state for personnel to attend accident reconstruction courses to enhance the Accident Reconstruction Program throughout Arizona $63,305
  • Personnel Services (overtime) and employee-related expenses for enhanced speed and traffic enforcement (Operation Maximum Impact) in the metropolitan Phoenix area $42,900
  • Personnel Services (overtime) and employee-related expenses, materials and supplies, and in-state/out-of-state travel, to enhance an aviation speed enforcement program throughout Arizona $30,000
  • Personnel Services (overtime) and employee-related expenses for enhanced speed and traffic enforcement in Pinal County $14,300
  • Federal 410 High Fatality (HF) funds will support Professional Services (overtime) and employee-related expenses to conduct enhanced high visibility DUI/Alcohol enforcement in the western metropolitan Phoenix area $43,850
