Several Tucson Police Officers are conducting a crime suppression effort along Grant Road Wednesday evening.

Officers have a command post setup near Alvernon & Grant Roads where bicycle units, patrol units, detectives, and traffic enforcement officers are staged.

Police are targeting 'Quality of Life' issues in the neighborhood, callers to KGUN9 have said they see a very large visible police presence with several persons being stopped in their vehicles and on foot.

The Tucson Police Department conducts these crime suppression sweeps in the area several times throughout the year.

Tonights operation is expected to continue throughout the evening.
