Tucson Police Detectives are investigating a fatal shooting near the 2500 block of North Fontana.

Police were called to the location just after 2p.m. for a 23 year-old man who was shot after a verbal fight with another man.

Paramedics responded and transported the victim to University Medical Center where he died from his wounds.

Officers located a suspect near the location and took him into custody without further incident.

Detectives are interviewing witnesses to piece together the chain of events leading up to the shooting.
