LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. (AP) - Lake Havasu City's spokesman will continue on as acting city manager.
Charlie Cassens was appointed city manager last week after the City Council fired Richard Kaffenberger.
The City Council voted unanimously Tuesday night in naming Cassens interim city manager.
Cassens said he will continue his roles as head of Communications and Intergovernmental Affairs Officer while managing the city.
Mayor Mark Nexsen it was an easy consensus among council members in naming Cassens interim manager.
Nexsen said the city's Human Resources Department has taken early steps in searching for a recruiting firm that would take the lead on selecting a permanent city manager.
Cassens is expected to remain city manager for several months.
