Springerville,Ariz.-  The deadline for submitting ornaments for the 2009 U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree from Arizona is Monday, October 5th.

This year the Capitol's tree, also known as "The People's Tree" has been selected from Arizona.

The 85-foot Blue spruce will be donned with over 5,000 ornaments made from Arizona students grades K-12.

All children who submit an ornament will also be eligible to win a trip to Washington D.C., along with parents and teacher or group leader, to assist the Speaker of the House light the Capitol Christmas Tree for the first time.
