LAKE HAVASU STATE PARK, Ariz. (AP) - Some boaters say they'll stop using Lake Havasu State Park's boat launch ramps if Arizona State Parks hikes entrance fees and eliminates its popular State Parks Premium Pass.
The pass allows entry into any of Arizona's 30 state parks for day-use activities for a year.
Boater Gordie Croteau of Lake Havasu City says he'd launch his boat somewhere else because he launches 300 out of the 365 days a year.
He's bought a premium pass for 15 years. Passes now cost $125 a year.
State Parks says if fees are raised, increases would go into effect next March.
It sold 3,271 passes, largely in parks along the Colorado River, during its 2008-2009 fiscal year.
