GILA BEND, Ariz. (AP) - Two badly decomposed bodies have been found in the desert southwest of Gila Bend.

Maricopa County sheriff's officials say preliminary information indicates that the two people were illegal immigrants crossing into the U.S. on foot.

The bodies were found around 12:30 p.m. Saturday by the humanitarian group Angels in the Desert.

Authorities are investigating whether foul play or exposure to the elements caused the two deaths.
