Around 10:30 pm on Sunday, Drexel Heights Fire District's received numerous 911 calls from residents reporting flames coming from the Tohono O'odham Swap Meet at 5721 S. Westover. When firefighters arrived on scene, they found a large shed fully involved in flames. Firefighters took a defensive attack knowing the building had a large fuel load and there were many buildings in the surrounding area. There were twelve units on scene and 25 firefighters managed to contain the fire to the one building. It took firefighters over an hour to get the balze under control. Tohono O'odham will be conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
