Tonalea man sentenced for robbery on Navajo Nation

Associated Press - September 4, 2009 4:24 PM ET

PHOENIX (AP) - A Tonalea man has been sentenced to more than three years in federal prison in connection with a robbery on the Navajo Nation last December.

Prosecutors say 23-year-old Eric Lee Kinney was given a 41-month sentence Thursday in U.S. District Court.

Kinney pleaded guilty to the robbery charge in April.

Authorities say Kinney, a co-defendant and a juvenile broke into the home of the victims in Kayenta and threatened them with an ax and knife. The three suspects then stole the victim's pickup truck.
