Nine year old nearly drowns in Tucson pool

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A nine year old boy is recovering in a hospital after he nearly drowned in an apartment complex swimming pool.
Paramedics were called to the complex near 1st & Ft Lowell just before 6 p.m. Tuesday evening after his parents found him face down in the pool.
Emergency crews arrived and found the boy out of the water, he vomited and started breathing on his own a short time later.
Investigators believe that the parents averted attention from the boy for a few minutes before noticing him.
This is the 8th near drowning incident in Pima County for 2011. So far this year, 3 children have died from water related incidents.
