Family finds Phoenix girl dead, police investigate

PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police are investigating the death of a 10-year-old girl whose body was found inside a container hours after she was last seen playing hide and seek.
Police spokesman Sgt. Trent Crump says family members found the girl Tuesday morning at a southwest Phoenix home and they tried to do CPR but it was unsuccessful. He declined to describe the container the child was found inside.
Witnesses told officers the unidentified girl was last seen late Monday or early Tuesday as she played with neighborhood children and some cousins.
Crump says the death may be an accident but detectives are conducting a complete investigation to find out how the girl died.
