A severe thunderstorm warning remains in effect until 4:45 PM MST for east central Pima County.
At 2:59 PM MST, The National Weather Service Doppler Radar continued to indicate a severe thunderstorm capable of producing quarter size hail, damaging winds in excess of 60 MPH, and heavy rain. This storm was located just west of Interstate 19 and north of Duval Mine Road, moving west at 10-15 MPH.
A flood advisory has been issued by The National Weather Service in Tucson, east central Pima County and south central Arizona. This includes the city of Green Valley until 4:45 p.m.
The Doppler Radar and spotters indicate that up to one inch of rain has fallen in and around the Green Valley area. This heavy rain in a short period of time may result in small stream flooding, according to the National Weather Service.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions:
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels in washes and streams, and water will puddle up in urban areas, highways, streets, underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots, according to the National Weather Service and the KGUN9 Weather Team.
